Espeon jumped nimbly from her perch above, her ears quivering slightly as if listening for the sounds of approaching footsteps. Her deep purple eyes seemed to reflect the dark and gloomy high prison walls around her, losing their old luster to the grey and bleak conditions of her dreary surroundings, but still a small spark of cunning and intelligence was quite evident as she silently scanned the darkness before her, her tail swishing back and forth with the long hesitation. She suddenly whipped her head to the right, the gemstone on her forehead glowing with a dangerous and violent hue glistening with a strange psychic power. A man stood surprised in front of her, dressed in an officers uniform, he quickly shot his black gloved hand towards his belt, and shakily he struggled to grasp onto a pokeball. He was barely able to let out a gasp when Espeon suddenly released a powerful purple wave of energy from her mystical stone. He shuddered with the impact falling limply to the floor with a subtle groan, his unconscious body a crumpled heap.  
Espeon looked at the downed prison guard, a chilling coldness in her stare as she walked on without a moment's pause, her act of merciless injustice meaningless to her, only thoughts of survival and escape prevalent in her sly mind. With one last look as she began to round a sharp corner Espeon suddenly took off at a full run, aiming to race up the high concrete walls without being noticed by the other prison guards, her soft velvety fur now exposed to the harsh moonlight, allowing it to gleam with the moons beams.
"Charlotte, why the rush" The Espeon forced herself to stop to face whoever had said her name, Her eyes quickly meeting with a pair that glared and sparked with an intimidating glower. A spider like Pokemon behind the bars of a cell creped as close as he could, just behind the metal barrier.
"Ariados, long time no see." Charlotte replied casually, "I see they have you locked up pretty tight." Ariados gave a subtle laugh but it was filled with a malicious sneer as he spoke with his previous partner.
"I'm surprised that you were able to escape, I heard that you were quite a problem a few weeks ago, but I must ask, where's Annie and Oakley, I thought that they would be with you." Charlotte looked around quickly before quietly replying.
"Let's just say I've decided my future deserves more than being their puppet. I'm no longer going to be part of your team Ariados." Ariados flinched violently forward but was unable to go very far when a wall of electricity made him quickly back up against the wall with the paralyzing shock.
"You traitor, I wouldn't have guessed you would ditch the team so easily, why would you do something so stupid." He seethed. Charlotte flicked her tail in agitation as she heard a guard on in some unknown place cough, reminding her of the situation she was in, a guard only had to round one of the corners of the maze like prison ground to spot her.
"Didn't you see that boys Pokemon," Charlotte quickly whispered peering suspiciously around her as she did. "They seemed different then you and I; I don't know what it was, but I want to be like them, I'm tired of coming when I'm called, being treated like a dog, and those Pokemon, they had something that I didn't have, and I want it.
"You're not thinking right Charlotte, and there is no way I'm going to let you escape." Ariados quickly shot a powerful shadowball at the cells barrier, its power was quickly depleted by the barricades powerful electrical system. A loud alarm sounded, piercing Charlotte's intensive ears as it reverberated around the prisons complex.
"You'll never escape Charlotte; there is nowhere to run now." Ariados bellowed over the loud booming of the security system. Charlotte glared at him in her fury but refused to let herself get carried away and choose revenge over freedom.
"Just watch me!" she fumed. Three guards were already running towards her, accompanied by an Arcanine whose stride was far faster than her own. Charlotte gently closed her eyes as she thought through the problem at hand, her heart rapidly beating with adrenaline but her composure calm and stable as she faced down with her new enemies. Suddenly her eyes opened and a wave of psychic power followed concentrated on the Arcanine, he was lifted slightly in the air, his bulk too large to have complete control.
"Watch out!" one of the guards shouted. Charlotte quickly threw Arcanine toward them knocking two of them over and forcing another to jump cautiously back, but Charlotte wasn't quite done with her bags of tricks and with a firm stance her gem began to glow a deep golden yellow, transitioning from its original purplish color. She faced upwards a golden beam of light from her gem reaching into the very zenith of the blackened sky, a blinding light a painful anomaly from the normal night's darkness. The guards quickly shielded their eyes, the burning powerful, and agonizing.
After only a moment the morning suns light had dispersed, leaving the guards to puzzle in wonder, for the lone Pokémon was gone, her presence vanishing like the light she had just produced. Like the shadows of the night she had disappeared with the golden rays of light.
"Put all police stations throughout the region on alert." One of the officers ordered "We have a felon Pokémon on the loose, and we can't let her be out there very long, people will be in danger the longer we're waiting."
